BiS’s new website up
When we launched BiS (Business in Savannah) July 2009, we purposely ran our content print only because we wanted to draw readers to our new publication without the distraction of being able to bypass it via the Internet.
We created a companion website, www.businessinsavannah.com but populated it with content from the daily Exchange section in the Savannah Morning News, with Spotted® galleries from www.savannahnow.com, Associated Press items and other material.
Recently, we relaunched our BiS website, new and improved with emphasis on a broader range of interactive elements.
Naturally, the site includes all the material from the print version so that the individuals and businesses featured may link to their stories and share them with their customers and others.
Our featured columnists who offer their expertise on a variety of topics also, of course, are able to share their columns with their clients and associates by posting links on their professional websites.
“The Business in Savannah website was designed to provide the local business community with a unique and comprehensive array of online resources to assist Savannah area professionals in networking, promoting and growing their businesses,” said Chris A. White, SMN Digital Media Technical Manager and Lead Developer of BiS online.
Enhancements to what we’re calling businessinsavannah.com 2.0 will include:
• Late-breaking local business news
• Complete 24/7 coverage
• Robust website search
• Staff blogging
• Featured community bloggers
• Story commenting and ratings for logged-in users
• Community forums
• Enhanced individual user account profiles via registration
• Latest Spotted® photos from the Business Community
• Data Central databases
• Featured slideshows
• AP business news
• Local weather
• Social media channels
With all of that available, we invite you to dig in. Become a blogger. Post Spotted® galleries. Take part in the forums. Comment on the stories and blogs.
If you would, browse through the site and share your thoughts on what we could do better. You can email those to firstname.lastname@example.org.
