CASA gets grant from Fox & Weeks and York Children's Foundation

Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors presented a grant for $500 in October to Savannah/Chatham Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) from the York Children’s Foundation, a national organization that awards grants to nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting children.

Every time a family purchases a casket at Fox & Weeks, part of the cost is donated to the York Children’s Foundation in the name of the deceased. The foundation was established in 1992 and is affiliated with the Mathews International Corporation casket division. To date, it has contributed more than $2.2 million to community-based children’s charities.

“Being able to participate in this program with the York Children’s Foundation provides Fox & Weeks with ongoing opportunities to support the many wonderful organizations in and around Savannah and Chatham County that help meet the needs of our community’s children,” said Fox & Weeks vice president Scott Weeks. “As a family-owned business, we are tightly tied to the families we serve, and we’re grateful for any chance we have to give back to the community.”

To qualify for a York Children’s Foundation grant through Fox & Weeks, an application must be submitted and an organization’s activities must be primarily directed toward the welfare and benefit of children.

Call Fox & Weeks at 912-352-7200 for more information or visit www.yorkgrp.com to learn more about the York Children’s Foundation.
