what we do
“We make and sell handmade personalized jewelry online,” Andreas said.
“It’s all by hand. Literally, if you looked at our fingertips, you’d understand.”
years in business
what makes us unique
“Our craftsmanship, design options, shopping experience and our exclusive online jewelry design software.”
“Gives our customers total creative control over the design process. This software is exclusive to us, and it’s changing the way the world shops for custom, personalized jewelry. It’s a freeform design space. That means you can drag any element into any position on the front or back of the item.
“You can embellish items with text, diamonds, soldered elements and cutout shapes.”
how our software started
“Customers started sending us mockups on their own. Sometimes they’d draw a jewelry design on a napkin and send it to us using their cellphone. People wanted to participate in the creative process, so we gave them a tool to do that.”
farthest place sold to
“We have sold to Singapore, Korea, Japan, throughout Europe, and Australia.”
“We have no formal training in jewelry. From the stamping to polishing to stone setting, we taught ourselves to do it. We make a lot of our own tools.
“I have a degree in finance and accounting from NYU, and my wife has a degree in biology from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. We’ve always been entrepreneurial.”
look for us at
“For the past four years we’ve sold our jewelry exclusively online on our website and other online marketplaces.”
“To continue to grow the business, enhance the software and get into some retail stores or partner with larger online retailers. Our software can be integrated into other sites so they can have an amazing tool to sell our jewelry.
“We could also manufacture other custom personalized products using this as a backbone.”
why we’re successful
“We came up with an innovative solution and executed a plan with boatloads of determination on a shoestring budget.”
number of employees
“Five, including us.”
“Experience isn’t necessary. It’s more about looking for someone who’s a good person, who can be loyal, dedicated to the business, trustworthy and have the aptitude to learn our craft. We train them and would rather start with a clean slate.
“The people we’ve hired so far have not been trained in jewelry prior to working with us.”
how we find our employees
“One initially was an acquaintance through jujitsu. Socializing at events or talking in passing, sometimes you meet a person who seems to have potential. It’s really random.”
we tell our staff
“We’re always telling them to take the initiative to improve things and watch out for adding too much extra fat to a process or task so we can be as efficient as possible. Have the drive to come up with solutions to problems.”
advice for other businesses
“You need to be good at a lot of things as a small business owner. We can do most things internally whether it’s production, equipment maintenance, IT, graphic design, or whatever’s needed. If we don’t know it, we learn it.
“Be willing to get your hands dirty and do things that might be uncomfortable and push the boundaries of your abilities to accomplish things. Ultimately, that played a huge role in our success.”
why Savannah works for us
“We’re here because Savannah’s just enchanting. The business could be anywhere, and we chose to stay here because we love the town, the beauty of it, and the charm.
“Eventually, if we go downtown (for retail presence), there is the added benefit of having a constant flow of new customers and a strong local market.”
