Imperial retirees give to Red Cross

A few times a year, members of the Imperial Suguar Retirees Club stop by the American Red Cross to present them with a check of appreciation for their support during the tragic events of the Sugar Refinery fire in 2008. In December, the club gave the local chapter of the Red Cross a check for $2,000. Red Cross officials say they appreciate their relationship with the retirees club and are grateful they could support the Imperial employees and their families in the aftermath of the 2008 explosion and fire that killed 14 Imperial workers and injured others.
