Gasoline prices move upward in metro Savannah
Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah have risen 3.7 cents a gallon in the past week to $3.38 a gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.
The national average has increased 4.5 cents a gallon in the last week to $3.31, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices Sunday were 0.6 cents a gallon lower than the same day a ago and are 1.4 cents a gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 4.5 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 6.7 cents lower one year ago.
"Refinery production has taken a hit in the last week as companies begin looking towards the summer driving season, utilizing this time of year for maintenance and any upgrades before gasoline demand races higher for the summer season," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
