The Small Business Chamber of Savannah unveiled a new logo during their annual holiday breakfast on Tuesday.
The new navy blue logo was designed in partnership with Creative Approach, which also is the chamber’s sponsor for 2016.
Chamber president Ammie Dover said the chamber gave the team at Creative Approach a few ideas and a lot of creative liberty to design the new look.
“We wanted to make it look business without it being stuffy corporate,” Dover said of the logo, which models the SBC initials to resemble a briefcase.
Dover and vice-president Regan Drake said they hope the new logo, along with rebranding, will bring a fresh new look to the chamber in the coming year
“It’s a great organization that’s been around for years, but we’re trying to bring some fresh new life into it,” Drake said.
“There’s been some very good loyal core groups of business owners and managers that have been coming for years, but there’s a lot of new businesses in Savannah and we’re there to support everybody.”
Tuesday’s breakfast — which also included a raffle with all proceeds benefitting the Union Mission — was held at the Dresser Palmer House and played host to the biggest crowd the chamber has seen in years Dover said and she hopes to keep the momentum going into 2016.
Along with the new logo Dover said the chamber is also branching out to include evening and more educational events.
“Historically, the Small Business Chamber has only been a monthly morning networking event, and we’re really trying to change that to incorporate some business education moments, some after hours networking so that we can get a new mix of people and help them expand their reach within Savannah,” Dover said.
“We’re working on some big things in 2016, and Creative Approach is a big part of that and we’re very thankful... We’re really trying to help people grow, not just network.”
