Growth and opportunities in Pooler continue to bloom as more and more businesses are calling the city home.
Just Thursday afternoon, co-owners David Lavigne and Beverly Shreve were opening the doors to a new restaurant in Pooler. Stoner’s Pizza Joint offers dine-in, takeout, delivery and catering of pizza, wings, salads, sandwiches and more.
Shreve’s family owns franchises in South Carolina and Georgia, and opening one in Pooler was an easy decision, she said.
“The dough we make fresh in store every day is my grandmother’s recipe and my cousin started Stoner’s 30 years ago, so it’s certainly a family business and family affair,” Shreve said. “We are really excited to be here in the Pooler area. It’s booming out here and there are so many families out here to serve.”
More than a dozen other businesses have opened in Pooler already in 2016, with many more to follow.
As has been the case the last several years, this year seems to be be another successful year for the Pooler economy, allowing residents and visitors plenty of options for restaurants, shops and personal services.

“We’re not here to run anyone out of business. We want to see everybody succeed,” Shreve said. “I believe there’s enough (business) for all of us in Pooler.”
