Owner Noel Wright answered questions for this series:

Location and hours:

The office is located at 54 Romney Place, Savannah, Ga., 31406.

How long have you been in business?

In 1989, I opened Wright Security Systems as a way of helping family and friends get access to tools that would keep their loved ones safe and secure. It has evolved to give our neighbors and other Savannah residents access to the latest technology in business, home and personal security, said owner Noel Wright.

How many employees do you have?

Wright Security Systems has two technicians and three office administrators.

How would you describe your business?

We specialize in the design, installation, service and monitoring of security and fire alarm systems and offers video recording and in-home automation for residential and commercial markets.

How has your business changed over the years?

Wright Security is an authorized Alarm.com dealer in Savannah. This allows our firm to offer award winning technology and cloud services power Security &Smart Home solutions, including Interactive Security, Energy Management, Video Monitoring, Intelligent Automation and Wellness. All of our smart devices can be managed through a user-friendly mobile app. This partnership allows us access to the latest training and equipment available in our industry.

What has been your biggest challenge and how have you overcome it?

Finding and hiring new employees who are skilled in low voltage and security product installations is a challenge we face. Also, we have many customers trying to mismatch security products instead of using one system that is integrated together. Trying to use cameras and monitoring equipment on separate networks puts homeowners and businesses at risk for a huge loss. We always suggest finding a single, integrated system that meets all of your needs to ensure there are no gaps in your security.

What aspect of the business are you most proud of?

I have been in the residential and commercial security dealers industry for more than 30 years after starting my career as an alarm technician with a small company in Savannah. Sustaining and growing the business through the recessions is in itself a huge accomplishment. But I’m also proud to be an authorized Alarm.com dealer in Savannah. Having access to training events and the latest technology sets my company apart from the other security dealers in our area. The mobile app we use delivers a seamless user experience across a broad ecosystem of security, energy, video and automation devices. This app is even available on the Apple Watch. The level of service we are able to offer our customers with this partnership is unbelievable.

Stalwart is defined as “marked by outstanding strength and vigor; loyal, hardworking and reliable.” What is it about your business that makes it a Savannah stalwart?

Most of my customers have my cellphone number. If they need me, they can reach me. How many other CEOs can say that to their customers?

What do you hope for the future of your business?

In the business world, I see security technology expanding. Facial recognition software may become common practice. Also, drones may be used to monitor a facility or construction site.

Sony just patented a camera that is inside of a contact lens. Google and other companies are exploring this technology as well. I would imagine that we are just beginning to see what wearable technology can do.
