Adkins led a team to grow $108 million in core deposits in one year and worked on a team that merged two financial institutions while retaining 98 percent of clients. She works with Optimist International, Feeding America Network and South Effingham Band Boosters.

How will you do business differently this year or decade?

The pace of change is steadily increasing and clients thrive on convenience. We are allocating additional resources that will allow the client to bank when and where they want, through various channels, seamlessly.

What technological or cultural advances are you looking forward to?

Our ability to be innovative with technology is increasing exponentially each year. Size and usability in how we communicate with the world becomes more mobile and convenient. Just in the last decade we have seen the rise in GPS, Airbnb, Uber, etc. All of these should continue to improve the tourism and business opportunities .

What qualities or assets will distinguish Savannah and preserve or advance our local economy?

Savannah has a well-diversified economy. We have the Port of Savannah, two military installments, great colleges, tourism, trauma hospitals, and an international airport. All of these provide opportunities for Savannah residents.

What economic drivers and business sectors promise the most growth in the next year or decade? Why?

Port of Savannah and our military presence – both have far-reaching effects.

What college degrees will be the most in-demand in the area? Why?

Logistics and Technology degrees will be high-demand. With the Port of Savannah and two major interstates in our area, it is crucial to have individuals with an expertise in inventory and good transportation.

What advice do you have for other Savannah leaders?

Don’t fear, but embrace, new ideas that will keep Savannah at pace with technological advances.

What innovation of yours do you hope will be remembered by future generations?

I hope to be remembered as someone who fostered and influenced others to do their best.
