Bell earns GMA award

Savannah Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Bell received the Certificate of Recognition on June 25 from the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute during the Georgia Municipal Association’s annual convention in Savannah. To receive a certificate, a city official must complete a minimum of 42 units of credit, including at least 18 hours from a list of required classes. The training program consists of a series of more than 60 courses.

Fowler named to Hall of Fame

The Georgia Municipal Association inducted Richmond Hill Mayor Harold Fowler into the Municipal Government Hall of Fame on June 26 at the association’s annual convention in Savannah. The Hall of Fame designation, awarded to only three public servants annually, honors municipal officials who exemplify the best in public service, and who, throughout their careers, have made extraordinary contributions to their communities and Georgia’s cities.

Danielle Easterling, a project manager in the Thomas & Hutton Savannah office, is now a licensed professional engineer in Georgia. The eight-hour civil examination consists of five areas, including construction, geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources and environmental.
