Getting to Miami and Chicago will be a little easier for Savannah area travelers in 2018.
American Airlines today announced year-round, daily non-stop flights to Miami International Airport and seasonal daily, non-stop flights to Chicago O’Hare Airport from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.
The service to Miami will begin on June 7. Service to Chicago, which will also begin on June 7, will operate seasonally until Sept. 4. Tickets for all flights are already on sale.
“Additional service to Chicago and the return of direct service to south Florida has been on our top five air service priority list for some time now, and we have been working very hard on that list,” said Greg Kelly, Executive Director of Savannah/Hilton Head International.
“We are very pleased that American Airlines has decided to add both Chicago and Miami service to our market. Direct access to both of these American hubs will be a great benefit to our region.”
American Eagle will operate its Embraer ERJ-145 configured with 50 seats into Savannah/Hilton Head International for both routes.
