Bahama Joe's has been fitting Savannah to a T for over 40 years

If you've lived in the Savannah area for very long, chances are you have an old, faithful t-shirt that the friendly staff at Bahama Joe's created. That's because, for over forty years, Bahama Joe's has been outfitting Savannah's local organizations, companies and students with branded merchandise from custom T-shirts, work and school uniforms, and caps, to safety apparel, mugs and pens.

"Our motto is 'Your vision. Our products," says Ross Mosteller, General Manager. "That's what we focus on, getting you great products that represent you, and promote your brand in the community and beyond."

The company is well known for its screen printing business, as the go-to spot for local organizations needing shirts for events and branding. Most know about their store on Waters Avenue that sells uniforms for all the local private schools. But they also provide work uniforms and safety apparel to large companies like the Georgia Ports Authority and Imperial Sugar.

"But we're a local company," adds Ed Chapman, Bahama Joe's president. "That's what sets us apart from others, specifically the online shops. Our employees are local and dedicated, so we are able put a very special stamp on what we do--customization and attention to detail by real people who are part of this community and understand its needs."

He tells a story about a customer needing shirts in just a couple of days, and how they were able to pull that off, because of the dedication of Bahama Joe's staff.

"We also provide service from concept to completion," says Mosteller. "We have designers that can work with the concept you have and help visualize what you're looking for."

And there's really no sign of the company slowing down. Bahama Joe's is working on a new, consolidated facility in Garden City that will allow the company to meet the growing needs of the community.

"We currently have production facilites on Bay Street and in Pooler," says Mosteller. "But the new facility will allow us to bring everything and everyone together under one roof."

Which is good news in more ways than one. Both Mosteller and Chapman say their workers embrace the company's family-style work environment, which is a testamet to their level of service.

"Right now, our average length of employment is at nine years," says Chapman. "That really says something about the environment here, and what it's like to work here with a great group of people who really enjoy doing what they do."

Account representative Claudia Flores agrees: "We have a great time here. No matter the project, we all pitch in to help out. At the end of the day, we're a family and a team. It's what makes working here a passion for all of us."
